Overview
Security has gained a greater importance in the society for government authorities and commerce, but also for the personal security of the individual. After completed the course the student shall obtained a good basic insight in security methods and routines, as well as different EU-standards for upholding a necessary security level.

Content
Central elements in the course are:• Secure handling of software and hardware.
• Planning evacuations of buildings

• Regulation (EC) No 2320/2002 aviation security
• ISO/IEC 27002 ''Information technology- Security Techniques- Code of practice for information security management''
Learning outcomes
On completion of the course the student will be able to:• have a general overview of security methods and routines when it comes to storage, destruction, reference and transport of data (software) and material (hardware) containing sensitive information.
• have a good knowledge of routines for planning evacuating buildings and personal safety.
• have a good knowledge of existing system and action plans regarding transport security, personal safety and burglary protection.

Learning methods
To advance the learning process the lectures are mixed with mandatory assignments where the students themselves shall obtain and apply for this course relevant knowledge. In order to give the students as accurate information as possible there will be lectures given by invited lecturers. Study visits will be carried out whenever possible.Work placement
Big parts are given by The Rescue Services as well as the Security Department at Kockums.Teachers

Planned learning activities
Lectures and projects.Time allocation
On average, a student should study 200 hours to reach the learning outcomes. This time includes all the various available learning activities (lectures, self studies, examinations, etc.). The course will be graded Fail, Pass, 3, 4 or 5 .On request grades according to ECTS will be given.
