Overview
The aim of the course is that the student should reach basic theoretical knowledge within workpsychological and psychological basic phenomena. In the course, psychological perspectives with a focus on man in the information society are emphasised. The course intends to increase the understanding of human processes and reactions

Learning Outcomes
Content
The course comprises scientific philosophy, an overview of the disciplinary foundations of the subject and a broad orientation in the theories of the psychology. The student should reach a comprehensive orientation in psychological perspectives on working environment and working organisation considering human need and preconditions. During the course, workpsychological aspects are treated with a focus on the individual within organisation, organizational changes, the psychosocial working environment, motivation, work satisfaction, stress and personality.Learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should:- Be able to account for scientific fundamental concepts within psychology and workpsychology
- Know and be able to identify and account for psychological phenomena
- Be able to reflect and analyse in relation to psychological issues

Learning methods
The teaching takes place in the form of lectures, seminar, group activities and laboratory sessions. The teaching is given in Swedish. Learning activities: The studies are based on an active knowledge acquisition. Participation at demonstrations, lectures, group work, seminar and laboratory sessions are compulsory according to the course director's instructions. Because aim should be achieved and general abilities are developed should the student through active participation create opinion of the knowledge. By starting with simpler parts and work itself up to complex wholes should the student learn critically and analytical thinking.Work placement
No work placement is included in the planned learning activities. BTH is aiming for a close contact with the surrounding community when developing courses and programmes.Teachers

The teaching takes place in the form of lectures, seminar, group activities and laboratory sessions.Time allocation
On average, a student should study 200 hours to reach the learning outcomes. This time includes all the various available learning activities (lectures, self studies, examinations, etc.). This estimation is based on the fact that one academic year counts as 60 ECTS credits, corresponding to an average student workload of 1 600 hours. This may vary individually.Examination
