Learning Outcomes

Content

Leadership and sustainable working environment, 7,5 credits (7,5 ECTS)
The course contains workpsychological theory within leadership and sustainable working environment. The course expires from both individual and group perspective as organisational perspective. Leadership and sustainable working environment relate to fields as organization culture, organizational climate, the leader as a work environment factor, project psychology, team progress, leadership for creativity and man in the flexible working life.
Metacognition - thinking, reflection and experience, 7,5 credits (7,5 ECTS)
The course aims to that the student should acquire advanced knowledge by studying different theoretical perspectives concerning the thinking of people and more specific how individual cognitive and emotional processes interact with surrounding relation. Specific attention will be devoted to the knowledge field metacognition and the relation of metacognitive processes to social and technical relations. Both practical and theoretical aspects on cognition will be treated.
Research methodology, 7,5 credits (7,5 ECTS)
The module treats research methodology-related bases in psychology. Both qualitative as quantitative research methods are treated and statistical exercises are applied.
Essay, 7,5 credits (7,5 ECTS)
The module intends to integrate and apply earlier course section. Within own chosen subject area to carry out a thesis work that is presented and discussed at a completing seminar.

Learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should:
  • Be able to define and account for scientific concepts within workpsychology with specialisation leadership and sustainable working environment
  • Be able to define and account for the scientific concept within cognitive psychology with specialisation metacognition- thinking, reflection and experience
  • Be able to reflect, analyse and discuss around leadership and sustainable working environment
  • Be able to reflect, analyse and discuss around thinking reflection and experience
  • Be able to define and account for scientific methods within psychology
  • Be able to apply both qualitative as statistical data
  • Be able to apply scientific methods through thesis work

Learning methods

Teaching is given as lectures, discussions, seminars, group activities and computer exercises. In the course a researching and examining working method is applied which implies to search, collect, analyse and reflect on the information. Because aim should be achieved and general abilities are developed should the student through active participation create opinion of the knowledge. By starting with simpler parts and work itself up to complex wholes should the student learn critically and analytical thinking.

Work placement

The students use own professional experiences at reflection and analysis of the course content.

Planned learning activities

The Planned learning activities in the course are: lectures, discussions, exercises, presentation of study assignments, writing of essay and examinations.

Time allocation

On average, a student should study 800 hours to reach the learning outcomes. This time includes all the various available learning activities (lectures, self studies, examinations, etc.).
